Bedfordshire County Darts up for local award!

Bedford Borough Council's Sports development unit and Sport Bedford will be presenting their 14th Annual Sports Awards 2009 which will be taking place on Monday 14th December at the Corn Exchange, Bedford.

We, Bedfordshire Darts Organisation, have been nominated for the Sports Team of the year which is great that we are getting local recognition of our achievements and all the effort that goes into running the team and also for the players who have together done a magnificent job these past few seasons getting back to back promotions and starting this new season off well.

Karon Martin (ladies team captain) and Tony Martin (mens team captain) are attending the awards ceremony on the 14th december. Lets hope that Bedfordshire darts can achieve something new by winning such award.

what do you think about this. please feel free to post your comments....

2 out of 2, and looking good

With Bedfordshire darts looking stronger every month and after two wins from two games in the dizzy heights of the County League Division 1 we travel away to County Durham 2nd the in table and looking like an established side. Last months win at home to Somerset was a real confidence boost as they were one of the only two sides to beat us last season and they pipped us to the top spot in division 2. The 11-1 win from the mens A also was one of the many highlights of the weekend.
The ladies both A and B teams have now really started to step up and are now showing what they really can do and go onto achieve as in recent years the ladies have not played to their very capable best but now the county side looks to be a very balanced side indeed.
The saying goes that your only as good as your last performance well if thats anything to go by then we must be looking good going into our 2nd away game of the season.
